The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT) represents the interests of Chartered Physiotherapists in animal therapy. The ACPAT is a professional network group of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, and ACPAT members are Chartered Physiotherapists who have trained in physiotherapy and rehabilitation for animals. The ACPAT endeavors to lead the field and the standards of animal physiotherapy and promote excellence through ongoing education, evaluation, research and continuing professional development.
The Equine Sports Massage Association (ESMA) was founded by Mary Bromiley, FCSP, SRP, RPT (USA), in order to ensure that clients receive services from fully trained and qualified equine masseurs. To fulfill this goal, the ESMA has rigorous training and examination procedures that members must adhere to. The association now has well over 100 members all over Great Britain, as well as some international members.
The National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP) was founded in 1985 in order to promote the professional practice of veterinary physiotherapy. NAVP members are graduates of NAVP accredited BSc and PgDip/MSc Veterinary Physiotherapy courses. The NAVP’s mission is to ensure that animals receive the highest standards of physiotherapy care, and the association supports a foundation of scientific knowledge paired with clinical practice and continued research.
